I have a confession..and honestly? It’s been a long-time coming.
I’m breaking up with “crunchy” culture.
Not because I’ve suddenly decided ingredients don’t matter.
Not because I’ve thrown out everything I’ve learned over the last few years.
And definitely not because I’ve started buying fluorescent orange cheese.
I’m breaking up with the version of clean living that convinced me peace was always one product swap away.
If you’ve ever fallen down the ingredient rabbit hole, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
It starts so innocently.
You switch your laundry detergent. Then your shampoo. Then your toothpaste. Then you learn about seed oils. Then cookware. Then food dyes. Then fragrances.
Before you know it, you’re standing in the grocery store Googling whether the “natural flavors” in your crackers are secretly plotting against your family while your toddler is licking the shopping cart.
It’s… a lot.
I genuinely believe learning about what goes in and on our bodies is a good thing. That knowledge has helped me make better choices for my family.
But somewhere along the way, I noticed something.
The healthier I was trying to become… The more anxious I became.
I wasn’t just reading labels anymore. I was questioning every purchase.
Feeling guilty every time I bought convenience food.
Wondering if one birthday cupcake was undoing years of effort.
Constantly feeling like I was one “better” swap away from finally doing enough.
That’s exhausting.
And honestly? Stress isn’t exactly a health food.
It finally hit me one day that I was spending so much energy trying to eliminate every possible toxin that I was introducing one of the biggest ones into my life:
Chronic stress.
That’s not the legacy I want to leave my kids.
I don’t want them remembering a mom who was constantly worried about what was in everything.
I want them to remember homemade soup simmering on the stove.
A backyard garden.
Crafts spread across the kitchen table.
Long afternoons outside.
Prayers before dinner.
Fresh bread.
Dirty feet.
Laughter.
Those things matter, too.
Maybe even more.
These days, I still choose cleaner products. I still read ingredient labels. I still make homemade alternatives when it makes sense.
But I’m no longer chasing perfection. I’m choosing intention.
There’s a huge difference.
I’ve also stopped believing I have to overhaul my entire life every time Instagram discovers a new ingredient to panic about.
I’ve accepted that my family will eat birthday cake.
We’ll grab takeout sometimes.
We’ll use convenience foods when life gets busy.
And somehow… I think we’ll survive.
Because a peaceful home is healthy, too.
A mom who isn’t carrying the crushing weight of trying to optimize every square inch of life is healthier, too.
Clean living should support your life. It shouldn’t become your life.
That shift has changed everything for me.
It’s also the reason I love creating and sharing simple recipes.
Not because I think every mom needs to make everything from scratch.
Heavens, no.
We’re all just trying to remember if we moved the laundry to the dryer, right??
I share them because clean alternatives are often ridiculously expensive.
If I can show you how to make something with a handful of simple ingredients for a fraction of the cost, that’s one less thing standing between you and living more intentionally.
No fear. No guilt. No pressure to become the “perfect crunchy mom.”
Just practical ideas that help you make the choices that feel right for your family.
I’d love to help make intentional living feel simpler, more affordable, and a whole lot more peaceful.
