I have been drinking the same coffee creamer for years. Too many years to count.

I fell in love with Nestle’s Natural Bliss creamer awhile ago because of the natural and minimal ingredients: Milk, Cream, Sugar, & Natural flavor. GMO free

All was well with my coffee every morning for the past 10 years, until it wasn’t.

I have been a loyal shopper of Walmart delivery for 2 years. I am a predictable buyer and always fill my cart with all the same things week after week. Then, one week in January, I noticed that the packaging of my beloved coffee creamer looked different, but I didn’t think anything of it. Companies are always changing the looks of their packaging.

But the moment that I opened the bottle to add a splash into my mushroom coffee, I noticed that it looked different.

It was thicker. It poured more slowly. It WAS NOT THE SAME.

So then I took a second look at the bottle. It definitely read “natural bliss”, so what was the issue?

Then I turned the bottle over to check out the ingredients to investigate further and to much of my surprise, the ingredients were not what I was expecting.

The new ingredients: skim milk, cream, sugar, buttermilk, soybean oil, natural flavor, gellan gum. The GMO free label was also removed (I’m betting because of the soybean oil????).

I turned to the internet to find out more information, but all I found was this thread on Facebook. At least I know that I am not the only unhappy customer about this – there are A LOT of angry comments about this.

I was dumbfounded. How could they claim to be a natural creamer when they added all of these unnatural ingredients?!

I could speculate all day. Money. Greed. All of the above. It doesn’t really matter.

What matters is that they made the change and then claimed that they added the ingredients to enhance the flavor of the creamer.

So, what’s the big deal about natural coffee creamer?

Ingredients matter. What we put in our bodies matter. I try my best to minimize our intake of seed oils and inflammatory foods, so this was super disappointing to say the least.

But you know what they say, all good things must come to an end.

So, this is to all of the label checkers: keep on checking them.

You just never know when a company will up and add a sneaky GMO ridden formula to your once beloved convenience food.

  1. I do not like the change in ingredients! It was much cleaner without the change. I have switched to a cleaner creamer after being a loyal customer for years. Too bad keeping a product clean didnt matter to you. Buttermilk, Soybean and Gellan Gum???? Give me a breakšŸ˜”

  2. I just noticed this as well!! So I came online to find out about it. Iā€™m so mad! The only reason I noticed is because I looked at the fat content because I started tracking some macros and there was the new ingredients list. Unreal!

  3. Chobani has a creamer that I’ve found has mostly natural ingredients – I’ve bought it over holidays when Chobani has a flavored one. I suddenly starting having just the slightest upset stomach every morning after my coffee. I realized after I cut my coffee that it was the culprit. I think it was actually the CREAMER because I used Natural Bliss and it’s within the past few months I figured this out. I appreciate your post so I can try to get rid of my issues and still enjoy my coffee.

      1. I feel The same way about this change. They did it sneakily and added the stuff a lot of us are trying to avoid. I thought I was Getting the wrong one because if the package change. Natashaā€™s kitchen has a home made one Iā€™m thinking of trying and it may be a little bit better.

  4. 100% agree! I loved the old Natural Bliss.
The closest thing I found is Simple Truth brand (only cream, sugar, vanilla). This is a Kroger/king soopers/Harris teeter brand. It comes in a smaller bottle so itā€™s a little more expensive but tastes good!

  5. I thought I was going crazy!! I recently cut out soybean from my diet three weeks ago and was one I swear that was a creamer that sounded the same but didnā€™t have soy bean, and then come to find out they changed the look and ingredients. Talk about gaslighting there customers

  6. I’d noticed the ingredient change today when I went to the store to buy some more. The label was different, so I felt compelled to read the ingredients label, and there it was… the change. Needless to say, I left the store without creamer.

  7. I am with all of you and want to get our natural bliss coffee cream back. I could not believe they changed the ingredients to ā€œworse ingredientsā€ – soybean oil is bad for you and causes stomach upset. I am allergic to anything with soybean oil and get sick- many people and nutritionists say to avoid it. Surprised they did this. It was perfect the way it was. Now using the Chobani too, but itā€™s just ok.

  8. I happen to look at the ingredients because of the new label…..well guess what…I put back!! Guess I’ll use cream &sugar that I know I Can get!!

  9. It doesnā€™t even smell the same and anyone without a gallbladder immediately knows something is up. Any kind of oil is no bueno. Switched to Chobani.

  10. I can not believe they did this. Recently as I look at the ingredient list in a lot of the food in the grocery store Iā€™ve been in awe at how everything contains Soybean oil and Pea protein.
I went to grab the natural bliss Iā€™ve been using for years and noticed the bottle looked different. So I decided to look at the ingredients. Absolutely pissed me off.
The 2 new ingredient negatively affect testosterone levels. I believe this is done with a malicious intent. Iā€™m so sick of all this garbage in our food, and the average person jus not caring. Itā€™s your body, you get one. Take care of it!

  11. Came here via a Google search after dumping my coffee in the sink yesterday and seeing clumps of what I thought was curdled milk in the bottom of my mug. Whoa! Checked the label this AM and asked my wife if she noticed the same thing about her leftover coffee. Weā€™ve been conned! In our family, weā€™ve been calling Natural Bliss ā€œmagic elixirā€ for years as it (used to) make the coffee so delicious. Thanks for posting this and doing the research. If we wanted to have all of this crap in our creamer we couldā€™ve saved tons of money and just bought the regular coffeemate sludge. Maybe Iā€™ll try to find a recipe for the original magic elixir online and make it myself. Thanks!

  12. I used to buy natural bliss in sweet cream flavor. Stopped because of recipe change. Today I bought great value because it looks like old natural bliss recipe. (Skim milk, cream, sugar, natural flavors).

  13. So glad I’m not the only long time customer that is pissed off! As soon as I poured it in my cup, I noticed it was much thicker. Soybean oil and gellan gum loaded with Bioengineered GMO crap? No thanks.

  14. Same thing just happened to me! I normally use Chobani that I get at grocery store but if I am in a pinch at Walmart I will pick up the Natural Bliss. I just happened to take a look at the ingredients while I was having a discussion about coffee creamer with my daughter and it kinda pissed me off that they had secretly changed the ingredients.

  15. I to was shocked when I looked at the label, I do not need any more inflammation of the joints or ANY GMO based products! I suppose the best thing to do is to return it to Harris Tetter!

  16. DITTO.. I noticed the thickness of the creamer immediately. Then I went on the internet and fond the added soybean oil and gum crap. I wrote to them and told them that they should of left it alone as original and added a new one as creamier for those that don’t care. I switched to half and half.

  17. I’m late to this blog, but I just checked my Natural Bliss creamer and y’all’s voices must have been heard because it’s back to their original ingredients. It also lists nonGMO, GF, no artificial colors/flavors, carrageenan free, no rBST and no oils or gums.

    1. that’s great! I am not sure if I can trust them again, but happy to see this as an option. thanks for sharing!!!
